Preservation Work
In addition to my teaching and academic work, I am a historic preservation consultant. I believe in the importance and value of preserving historic buildings and landscapes. Not only does the built environment tell stories—good, bad, and ugly—of those who came before us, but it creates a distinctive sense of place to attract economic investment and opportunity while also providing for diversity, equity, and inclusion. My work as a preservation professional has aimed to document, advocate for, and enhance our historic structures and landscapes at the same time as guiding new development to balance history and growth.
